Aaron Turnbull-Holmes - Surrey, British Columbia
Kids are TOP of Aaron’s list of importance with learning taking a close second. Put the two of them together and you have what she is MOST passionate about. Teaching kids as much as they can learn so we can have a better tomorrow. Having been homeschooled as a teen she worked her way through high school as both a nanny and childcare worker for some local weekly Mom’s groups. Her passion for kids also had her delving into the world of volunteering with special needs. Volunteering is what first introduced Aaron to the deaf culture. It was like a whole new world had been opened up to her in the way of communication. She dove right in soaking up as much information as she could in the area of sign. It brought great joy to her life to be able to talk to all these little people each and every week. Once graduated Aaron went onto a new chapter in her life Child Care Coordinator for 5 years and ultimately…Motherhood. Aaron’s now every day being filled with her son of 12 years keeping her busy schooling him at home. Learning sign as his 2nd language of choice gives Aaron the practice she needs to keep it fresh in her mind on a daily basis. His sister who is now 17 months old adds to that in learning sign as fast as they can teach it to her. Signing has made everyday family life more enjoyable and definitely has added to stress being cut in half. Aaron is a firm believer that although out of school we can continue to learn in life. Aaron continues to learn sign and takes courses and reads books to add to her sign repertoire on a regular basis. Come and join her in adding to your communication repertoire and open up a whole new world for your little ones.
