Aimée provides parents with warm and informed support throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum year, while also focussing on helping parents to access their own deep wisdom. Part of this commitment is providing My Smart Hands™ Baby and Toddler Sign Language classes to parents, encouraging them to explore their relationships with their children on a whole new level.
“Along my path I’ve had the pleasure of being immersed in the world of American Sign Language (ASL) when I had a job teaching woodworking to Deaf and developmentally delayed adults. I’ve always been captivated by languages in general and ASL in particular since I encountered it in a puppet show as a child. I never forgot the signs that were used in the play and was thrilled to have a chance to delve deeper into the language as an adult. It
also helped me to realize just how much pleasure I got from teaching. This experience led me to explore the benefits and joys of sharing ASL with parents of hearing babies and toddlers.
