Erica Mumea - Mansfield, OH
Erica’s interest in American Sign Language began when she was very young. She began to teach herself some signs but it wasn’t until Erica started looking into college that she decided she truly wanted to learn the language. Erica began her degree in Interpreting for the Deaf at Columbus State Community College. She ended up receiving her American Sign Language certificate. Erica enjoys working with young children and loves to teach others how to sign. She is lucky enough to be able to teach her nephew, who is 1 yr old, some simple signs to reduce frustration as he begins to get older and knows what he wants but cannot say it. Erica thinks everyone should know American Sign Language as it is the third most used language in the United States! She is fortunate to be able to share her passion for signing with her sister-in-law and nephew and is looking forward to teaching your family how to sign with your baby!
