Heather Fowler - Central & South, Georgia
Heather’s love & passion for sign language began years ago, when she was given the opportunity to take part in a class taught by a deaf couple. Heather knew she wanted her relationship with her new friends to flourish and soon received her sign name, in which she is truly honoured to have. She also knew that she wanted to continue to be involved with the deaf community. She wants to help bridge the communication gap between the hearing and deaf culture.
In 2007 Heather united her love for sign language with ministry. She began interpreting worship songs and teaching them to a group of 25 people ranging in age from 4 to adults. The group ministered in sign worship at other churches and events traveling as far as central Alabama. Heather’s 9 & 5 year old daughters are also able to communicate with the deaf since they have been taught sign language. They learned a lot while signing worship songs, but also learn sign at home since she includes it in their homeschool curriculum. Heather’s girls currently sign and sing with her when their dad ministers anywhere.
Not only is she passionate about sign language, Heather also loves babies & toddlers. She has taught children in her home and has worked with babies in church nurseries, taught Sunday school, and worked with youth in many different avenues over the past 13 years. Heather looks forward to meeting you and sharing her knowledge with you. She is offering classes in Central & South Ga. Including Dublin, McRae, Eastman, Douglas, Fitzgerald, Macon & Warner Robins and surrounding counties.
