Rebecca Moore - Cleveland, Ohio
Rebecca lives in the Cleveland area with her husband and daughter, Hannah (born August 2009). She attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and got Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering. She now works for the University doing research in Orthopaedics.
She became interested in sign language at an early age, and although she was studying engineering in college, she found the time to take a couple ASL courses as well. She learns any new signs through books or online video dictionaries. She is also looking into taking more advanced formal classes at the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center this summer or refresher courses at the University in the fall.
Even before she was pregnant, she knew she wanted to sign with her babies. When the time came she began doing extensive searching of research articles, books, websites, etc. She came across Laura's videos with Fireese on YouTube, then to the My Smart Hands website. Then, she knew she wanted to become an instructor and share signing with other parents and babies.
For more info e-mail Rebecca at: becky@mysmarthands.com or download our class baby sign class inquiry form to be placed on a mailing list for upcoming classes. Remember to email the form back to Rebecca once completed.
