2.5-year-old Fireese, was a signing baby and is now a signing toddler!  Watch her sign the ASL alphabet!

Some people wondering if using sign language with hearing children can delay speech.  The answer to that is 100% no!  There have been several studies that show that signing actually increases vocabulary.  If you think about it, babies love to babble, they want to talk.  When they are able to talk, they will.  In the meantime, signing gives them a tool to communicate their needs to you.

I started teaching Fireese sign language when she was four months old.  She is now 2.5 years in this video and you can see how advanced her verbal skills are.  I believe this is partly due to the early exposure to sign language.

Watch as she signs the American Sign Language alphabet!
