Tomeeka Langer - Clarksburg, West Virginia
Tomeeka’s interest in Sign Language began in grade school. She taught herself the ASL alphabet and has taking multiply Sign Language courses. She is currently studying to be teacher and hopes to start her family soon. She currently teaches dance to children aging from 2 years old to 7 years old and enjoys every minute of it.
Tomeeka believes that our children are the future of the world and as parents we should help our children grow intellectually by subjecting them to the diversity of the world, and language is a big part of that. Tomeeka always knew she wanted her children to learn Sign Language and believes that My Smart Hands is the best of both worlds for her. With My Smart Hands she will be able to use her teaching skills and Sign Language skills at the same time. Tomeeka feels that learning should be a fun and exciting experience for both child and parent. Not only does signing enhance a child’s vocabulary and reduce frustration, but it also strengthens the child-parent bond!!
Tomeeka will be offering classes for residents of Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Barbour, Doddridge, and Monongalia counties. She is willing to travel for in home classes as long as there are enough participants to hold a class. She is also willing to work with home schooling groups who wish to incorporate Sign Language into their curriculum.
