All My Smart Hands® instructors are required to have at least a basic level of American Sign Language (ASL). If you do not have any ASL experience, we would require you to either take an ASL class in person in your city, or online at www.signingonline.com. It is important as a My Smart Hands® instructor that you have a respect ASL. Even though we have an easy -to-follow training program that will teach you everything you need to know to run a class, we feel strongly that you need to have a basic level of understanding of the language you will be teaching.
The first step in becoming an instructor is to send your resume, or a detailed email about yourself and your desire to join our wonderful team of instructors, to Karen Popma. She can be reached at 905-531-7023 or via email at RCdirector@mysmarthands.com. Please put ‘Application for MSH Instructor’ in the subject line of your email to Karen.
After your application is reviewed, Karen will send you our licensing agreement for your review and will schedule a time to call you for a phone interview. This interview is an opportunity for Karen to get to know you better and a time for you to ask any questions you may have about our program.
Please note: If you do not receive a reply from me within two days check your spam folder. If you don’t hear from me please try again or call me as I did not receive your email. I respond to ALL emails
